Like most kids in the 90s, I got very into many of the fashion trends. Slap bracelets, Reebok Pumps, Airwalk shoes, Umbro shorts, No Fear clothing, Zubaz pants and hats, bleached hair, puka shell necklaces, windbreakers, etc.

But there was one fashion fad that became such a big deal in the mid-to-late 90s that I would not let myself be a part of: the JNCO Jeans craze.

I just could never understand how someone could actually think they look cool wearing these goddamn things:

Well, it appears the days of JNCO Jeans are officially, finally over. According to the San Francisco Gate, the Los Angeles-based JNCO Jeans is closing shop:

JNCO Jeans, the Los Angeles company specializing in extra wide-legged trousers, is closing shop, and liquidating all inventory at reduced prices.

The SF Gate adds that JNCO closed their main factor in the 2000s, but the “brand rebooted in 2017, and a series of new lines were released.”

Clearly — thankfully — that rebooting effort didn’t go very well.
