Did you realize Jurassic World made nearly $1.7 billion and currently sits #4 on the all-time box office chart?

Reviews were generally favorable as well, receiving a 72% Rotten Tomatoes rating. It certainly wasn’t a perfect movie, but it featured plenty of awesome dinosaurs, which was (very understandably) more than enough for most people. That kind of success made a sequel inevitable, and it got the recent treatment of having its first full trailer debut during a primetime football broadcast, a tactic popularized by The Force Awakens and brought back more recently to great effect by The Last Jedi.

It’s been teased for a few days, but tonight it dropped during Thursday Night Football on NBC:

The return of Jeff Goldblum’s Dr. Ian Malcolm makes Fallen Kingdom even more enticing, providing a stronger link back to the original series of film, as if “Chris Pratt trains and/or battles dinosaurs while escaping an erupting volcano” wasn’t enough on its own.

Universal released a behind-the-scenes teaser earlier this week, if you’re looking for even more information:

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom comes out June 22nd, 2018.
