Ser Gregor Clegane aka “The Mountain” is a very strong man. The Game of Thrones character, played by Hafthor Bjornsson, is supposed to be the strongest person in Westeros. And that isn’t meant to be taken lightly. Bjornsson is a weightlifter and just like on the show, he’s one of the strongest people in the world.

Bjornsson proved that once again by deadlifting an ungodly amount of weight that you or I could only dream of. At the 2018 Arnold Strongman Classic, Bjornsson deadlifted 1,041 pounds to set a new deadlifting world record.

I’m not sure I could even move that an inch, much less lift it. This is just over half a ton of weight and even Bjornsson is struggling to lift that over his head. Bjornsson also set a world record for throwing a 56 pound weight over a 20 foot bar (with one hand).

Very happy with my new WR! 56lb weight over 20 foot bar. Boom! ?

It’s unknown what The Mountain’s role will be in the final season of Game of Thrones but he should keep his place as the strongest man in the land.
