Netflix seems to be churning out a lot of content these days but, Adam Sandler aside, most of it continues to look pretty interesting. That can also be said of their latest offering, Stranger Things.

The streaming service released the trailer for this upcoming fantasy(?)/mystery(?)/horror(?) series on Thursday.

The eight-episode series wears it’s influences on it’s sleeve and has been described as “a love letter to the ’80s classics that captivated a generation.” The kids on bicycles evokes E.T. The small town mystery brings to mind the classic Stephen King stories of the era (especially “It”). Winona Ryder is there, too, and what’s more 80’s than that? Even the title sequence looks like it was pulled out of 1983.

The plot itself revolves around the small town of Hawkins, Indiana, where a young boy vanishes following mysterious circumstances. His mother (played by Ryder) demands that the local authorities look into the disappearance, which sends everyone down a rabbit hole involving government experiences and supernatural entities. Questions will be answered. Young boys will come of age.

Matthew Modine, David Harbour, and Cara Buono also fill out the cast. The show creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, cut their teeth of TV mysteries Wayward Pines and Hidden. Shawn Levy (Night At The Museum, Real Steel) is executive producing.

Stranger Things starts streaming on Netflix July 15.
