This week’s host for Saturday Night Live is none other than Melissa McCarthy, and the teases for her appearance on the show are setting up for a big show.

Let’s just say it’s a good week for McCarthy to be appearing on the show. Given the headlines coming out of the nation’s capital this week and the sudden lack of visibility of White House press secretary Sean Spicer, it seems well timed to have McCarthy come on as host of the late-night sketch show.

McCarthy has taken on the role of Spicer in various SNL skits this season, and the show is already teasing her reprisal of Spicer this week, if not filming some footage to be used for a skit.

The mobile podium for “Spicey” has been used previously this season when McCarthy has come on the show for a brief guest appearance, so it makes sense to continue that gag and maybe push it even further this week in some form.

SNL has also released a brief promo music video set to “I Feel Pretty” from West Side Story, showing McCarthy prancing around and getting transformed into the press secretary.

SNL will once again be live coast-to-coast this Saturday. McCarthy as Spicer is a given. The show’s musical guest will be Haim.
