The Cantina song from Star Wars is driving people mad between the sheets in Australia.

Spotify released data about which songs Australians like getting down to. (Hat tip to The Big Lead.) The usual suspects made the list, Jeremih, The Weeknd and Trey Songz. But the oddest selection for the most-listened-to sex-song down under happened to be the Cantina Band song from Star Wars: A New Hope by John Williams.

There are no words.

The Cantina Band song performed in Chalmun’s Cantina in Mos Eisley on Tatooine isn’t what I’d call sexy. It’s relatively upbeat, but it’s not exactly a song that inspires romance. At least, not in North America. But in Australia, it’s apparently equivalent to Birthday Sex.

It’s difficult to explain, other than guessing the enticing sounds must hold entirely different meaning in Australia. Not to sound gross, but the music genre Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes play is technically called Jizz (I wish I was making that up), so maybe Australians are taking the genre as a double-entendre and using the name as sexual inspiration. We really don’t need to know the truth.

Next time you watch A New Hope when the heroes reach Mos Eisley and the song starts playing, just know somewhere in Australia people are probably banging to it. React accordingly.
