While most of us were watching the Chicago Cubs pull off an unbelievable comeback on the Cleveland Indians to end the longest championship drought in professional sports, the Country Music Awards were offering any non-sports fans what seems like the latest in a monthly series of awards shows for country music. Of course, the CMAs do their best to reach new audiences, and what better way to do that than by featuring the one and only Beyonce on the stage for a live performance.

Beyonce at the CMAs? It happened, although you would be hard-pressed to find much evidence of the live performance from the CMAs afterward.

Beyonce and The Dixie Chicks teamed up for a rendition of Beyonce’s “Daddy Lessons,” off of Beyonce’s Lemonade album. Having Beyonce be a part of your show is a pretty big deal. I mean, she performed at the Super Bowl one year, for crying out loud. She moves the needle in the music industry. So why then did the official Twitter account for the awards show not provide footage or evidence of the performance? Why was Beyonce not included in the list of official performers?

There were accusations the CMAs actually removed any images of Beyonce on the stage…

… but an official statement released by the CMAs claims that was not the case.

CMA has not erased any mentions of Beyonce’s performance on the CMA Awards. In advance of the broadcast, CMA removed a five-second promotional clip from ABC.com and CMA’s Facebook page. The promo was unapproved and CMA removed it prior to the broadcast. Beyonce’s performance with Dixie Chicks was a highlight of the evening and we are continuing to share the amazing full-length performance clip via our official social channels.

The lesson here? Don’t mess with Beyonce. The internet will find you if you dare take the shine off Beyonce in any way.
