What do The Little Shop of HorrorsThe Lion KingMamma Mia, and Kinky Boots all have in common? They were all hit movies that later became hit musicals.

In October, the world will find out if Mean Girls can be added to that list.

The 2004 cult classic written by Tina Fey will debut at The National Theatre in Washington D.C. on October 31st for a limited run until December 3rd, according to the Associated Press.

While Mean Girls will join the movies listed above and so many others as films turned into musicals, time will tell if Mean Girls the stage adaptation will become a success. The story was originally written as the movie screenplay by Tina Fey and the musical script is an adaptation of that screenplay.

The music and lyrics will be written by Emmy Award winner Jeff Richmond (30 Rock, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) and Tony Award-nominee Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde) respectively. Tony Award-winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Morman) is slated to direct and choreograph the musical.

No cast has been announced yet, but if Lindsay Lohan manages to star in it, let’s hope she’s as good as she was in the movie.
