You really can’t make it up on Twitter sometimes.

On Tuesday, while you were busy posting selfies with your valentine, an all-time Twitter beef took place.

In one corner, you had an actor — and former California governor — Arnold Schwarzenegger. In the other corner, it was the band everyone loves to crap on — Nickelback. It’s a matchup the greatest storytellers couldn’t even come up with.

The beef started when the Terminator took a shot at how unliked the current group in Congress is. While ripping Congress, Schwarzenegger basically said people liked Congress as much as they liked Nickelback. From there, the back-and-forth was on:

Nickelback threw some real heat there. The best part might be Arnold trying to get back on message about gerrymandering. It’s a worthwhile cause, but at that point, the Terminator might have been better off shutting off Twitter and not coming back.

We all entered 2017 with hope it would be better than the mess that was 2016. If we have conversations like this, 2017 will surely be a year we all remember.
