Apparent Furries aren’t so grrrrrrrrrreat to Tony the Tiger.
The Frosted Flakes mascot has taken to Twitter to stop furries, who have apparently taken a shining to the tiger, from sending him lewd sexual messages.
I’m all for showing your stripes, feathers, etc. But let’s keep things gr-r-reat – & family-friendly if you could. Cubs could be watching
What exactly are furries, you ask? Basically, they’re people who identify as cartoon animals, and roleplay as such, usually wearing fursuits. It’s not always a sexual fantasy, but in this case it appears to be.
Anyways, Tony the Tiger holds a lot of clout in the furry community, wanted or not, since he’s a hugely famous anthropomorphic tiger. This being the Internet, shit can get really weird. After getting numerous sexual furry stuff sent their way, Kelloggs went on a blocking binge, blocking as many furries as they could, regardless of whether or not they even tweeted at the account.
Some furries seemed pretty shocked by the decision, as they hope the actions of the sexually aggressive furries doesn’t mean all will be blocked.
@realtonytiger I certainly hope that the tactless acts of a few don’t sour your view of what is a very rational and often good natured many.

@realtonytiger I apologize for the way some of the people in the fandom I'm a part of have acted the past few days. We're not all like that.

With Tony the Tiger now banning furries, the group has turned their attention to another anthropomorphic cat.
Chester Cheetah, AKA the mascot of Cheetos, has now captured the eye of furries. He seems very welcoming to the community.
@tallfuzzball Oh, I know I am but I always appreciate the compliment.
Tony is safer now. Let’s see how long it takes for Chester Cheetah to also shield the eyes of his cubs. Hours? Days? Weeks?
