A few weeks ago, it was announced that Veep will have a seventh and final season. Given the current state of political affairs now compared to when the series started in 2012, it’s getting tougher and tougher to make the Veep political world more absurd than the actual political world.

Veep creator Armando Iannucci is looking toward his next project and it sounds like he wants to stay away from the political world as far as possible by setting his next show in outer space.

Deadline reports that HBO greenlighted a space comedy called Avenue 5 by Iannucci that will start filming in 2018 in London. Iannucci left the series he created in 2015 after season four so it’s not like anything regarding Veep will be affected.

Not much is known about Avenue 5 right now. All we know is that Iannucci is creator, writer and executive producer. Supposedly the show will be based on some sort of spaceship and Iannucci has a history for making satire. Maybe it’ll be something like that show Seth McFarlane is doing, The Orville. Let’s just hope Iannucci’s version is better.
