Walking Dead fans are both creative and relentless in their attempt to solve the big cliffhanger ending from season 6. (minor spoilers below)

The popular AMC cable drama, which tells the tale of Rick and his group of survivors as they manage their way through a zombie apocalypse and the troubles that go with it, ended season six with a bang. Long-time comic book villain Negan was finally introduced to the TV version and he killed a yet-to-be-determined character as season six came to a close.

According to the Hollywood reporter, fans near the Atlanta set location have used drones in an attempt to capture footage from the production of The Walking Dead in an attempt to spoil the reveal. Creator Scott M. Gimple said the drones have come problematic for both upcoming storylines and the safety of the cast.

“With the advent of drones, it can become such a game of cat and mouse that as far as sneaking a peek at the actors walking to set, we want to just keep our actors safe and the people who might be looking safe — like [when they’re] in the street,” he told THR last summer.”

Look, I get that fans want to know who Negan ended up bludgeoning in the season six finale (even though the character Negan kills in the comic is widely known), but using drones to try to get a sneak peak is sad. It’s a shame the production has dealt with overhead drones trying to spoil plot lines. Patience seems to be a lost virtue among The Walking Dead fans.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC later this year.
