WATCH: The gorgeous trailer for BBC’s Planet Earth II

It’s baaaaack. The incredible popular BBC Series “Planet Earth” was first released way back in 2006. 10 years later, the second season — or rather second version — is back for round two.

The upcoming BBC series known as “Planet Earth II” will once again be narrated by the great David Attenborough, and is a direct sequel of the first edition of the series in 2006.

BBC released the first trailer for Planet Earth II on Sunday:

Planet Earth II has been in the works for a while, but this is the first trailer released for the project. However, reports of what the show will look like have been talked about since February, when it was reported that some aspects of the series will be in 4K.

Here is everything else we know thanks to Engadget: Planet Earth II will be a six-part follow-up to the original series from 2006. The six hour-long episodes will look at similar parts of the planet in jungles, deserts, and grasslands.

“It will be a truly immersive experience, providing audiences with a unique perspective on the most extraordinary places and animals on our planet,” Planet Earth II executive producer Mike Gunton told reporters

In 2006, the first edition of Planet Earth cost more than 20 million pounds and was the most expensive documentary ever made. It was later sold to 155 countries. No reports have emerged yet disclosing how much Planet Earth II cost to make.

A couple weeks ago, reports came out that world renowned movie composer Hanz Zimmer will score Planet Earth II.

According to Hans Zimmer: “Projects such as Planet Earth II come along once in a lifetime. It is the gold standard of wildlife documentaries and with it comes an enormous creative responsibility. It has been a joy and a privilege to be involved in such a globally important project.”

Zimmer’s resume includes awards for working on The Lion King, The Dark Knight, Inception, Interstellar, and 12 Years a Slave.

The series will be first broadcasted on BBC One and BBC One HD in October and November of 2016.
