The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards are exactly what you think they are, kids choose who wins various awards. What do we mean by that? Well Moonlight and La La Land didn’t sweep the awards like they did at the Golden Globes and Oscars.

Instead, poorly reviewed movies like Ghostbusters, Suicide Squad as well as highly acclaimed Finding Dory won awards this past Saturday night.

Specifically in Finding Dory, one surprising actor won: Willem Dafoe.

Having trouble remembering who Dafoe plays in Finding Dory? Me too. He played Gill, the fish with the scar from Finding Nemo who was barely in Finding Dory. And I mean BARELY.

The thing is, Dafoe didn’t win an award for “best voice actor for a part in an animated movie that lasted no longer than 20 seconds.” Instead the award he won was “#Squad.” Ah 2017.

The “#Squad” award was won by a large squad of actors who voiced characters in Finding Dory: Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Kaitlin Olson, Hayden Rolence, Willem Dafoe, Ed O’Neill, Ty Burrell, and Eugene Levy.

That makes it a little less surprising that the 61-year-old Academy Award nominated Dafoe won a Kids Choice Award.

Here is a list of some of the other movies Dafoe has been in: SpidermanPlatoonThe Grand Budapest HotelAntichrist and many more. The only one of those movies kids watch is Spiderman, and he’s more well known for his roles in Platoon and Antichrist.

To make this even stranger, here are some of the other awards given out: Most Wanted Pet in a movie, Favorite Villain, Favorite Butt-Kicker, BFFs (Best Friends Forever), Favorite Frenemies, and Favorite DJ/EDM Artist.

Whoever correctly bet that Dafoe would win an award during his career at an awards show that gives out awards for BFFs and Butt-Kickers should be taking home a lot of money.
