Colorado goaltender Semyon Varlamov has been arrested on domestic violence charges. While this situation is still developing and most details are unknown, it appears Varlamov is being charged with a second-degree kidnapping charge and a third-degree assault charge, as reported by the Denver Post.
The Denver Post goes on to state that the assault charge is classified as a Class 4 felony charge while the kidnapping charge is a misdemeanor. Varlamov turned himself in on Wednesday night.

The Avalanche released a statement:
The Colorado Avalanche organization is aware of the allegations concerning Semyon Varlamov. At this time, and until the conclusion of this investigation, the Avalanche organization will have no further comment on this situation.
This is a shocking story which brings an immediate halt to the strong start by the Avalanche. The Avs have been arguably the best team in the NHL so far in 2013-14 and Varlamov deserves plenty of credit. However, it's important to remember that this is potentially a horrible situation (we'll wait to pass judgment until the case/evidence is presented, but things aren't looking good) and that there's a victim involved. This needs to serve as a reminder that life away from the rink is far more important than life on the ice.
