Hockey Fights of the Week: 10/28 – 11/3

Everyone is still talking about the Ray Emery – Braden Holtby "fight" which occurred during a massive brawl between the Flyers and Capitals. It'd be easy to rank that incident as the best from last week due to the sheer spectacle of it all, but we've opted to go in a different direction. Which fight leads the way? Read on to find out.

5. George Parros (MON) vs Patrick Bordeleau (COL) – Nov 2

This Parros-Bordeleau scrap isn't overly special by any means, but it was Parros' first fight after his frightening injury back on the first day of the season. It's also significant because Parros isn't sporting his iconic moustache. Judging by his performance, we're assuming Parros' fighting skills are directly linked to his 'stache.

4. Alexander Urbom (WAS) vs Brayden Schenn (PHI) – Nov 1

The line brawl between Philadelphia and Washington led to an incredibly ugly moment from Emery, but it also produced a pretty solid fight between Urbom and Schenn. It's clear Schenn is on the winning end of this one, but that might not mean much when you consider how Philadelphia has started the season.

3. Cody McCormick (BUF) vs Brandon Mashinter (NYR) – Oct 31

Approximately 19 punches were thrown between the two men in a span of about eight seconds. That fact alone makes this bout worthy of the third spot in this week's list.

2. Frazer McLaren (TOR) vs Brian McGrattan (CGY) – Oct 30

If you're looking for a classy fight, keep looking. McLaren starts this fight strong, but soon is a bit overwhelmed by McGrattan. As McLaren's jersey comes up over his head, McGrattan continues to throw punches at the back of his end. Not the most respectable move by the Calgary forward.

1. Joe Vitale (PIT) vs Brett Sutter (CAR) – Oct 28

The top fight on this week's list won't blow you away. In fact, we might look back at this week's list and view the top spot as one of the weakest of the season compared to other fights earning the first position. Still, Vitale and Sutter put on a balanced scrap which may have ended a bit prematurely. Compared to some of the other fights we have seen recently, the Vitale-Sutter quarrel is a perfect example of what a hockey fight is supposed to be.
