Jonathan Quick was embarrassing in Game 3

Jonathan Quick is an outstanding goalie. That much most hockey fans can agree on. However, in his team’s current series against the San Jose Sharks, Quick is receiving more recognition for his embarrassing behavior than for his play between the pipes.

In a critical Game 3 for the Kings, Quick’s resume for cheap/embarrassing plays grew. He dove, chopped and held in an attempt to gain some sort of edge. The Sharks were under his skin and Quick looked visibly rattled, struggling to get his team back in it even if it meant resorting to some ugly tactics.

The Dive

Look out below! Quick’s face-plant was pretty bad. The official is looking right at it and shakes his head as Quick sprawls on the ice.

The Hold

You could make an excuse for the dive (I lost my balance, I saw Mike Smith and wanted to impress him), but there’s really no justification for this one. It’s laughably bad. Logan Couture is laughing at the ridiculousness of the situation.

It’s one thing to be in a 3-0 hole, but it’s another to be in a 3-0 hole and resorting to antics like these.
