Patrick Kane was mic’d up during handshake line with Wild

The handshake line is one of hockey’s greatest traditions. Why? Watch and listen as Patrick Kane goes through the handshake line after the Blackhawks won their series against the Minnesota Wild.

Couple of noteworthy moments here:

Kane told Minnesota’s Jared Spurgeon that he’ll be “sick in this league.” That’s a pretty solid compliment for the defenseman who played the best hockey of his young career this season.

Need proof the hockey community is a tight one or that the players around the league know each other pretty well? Listen as Kane calls most of the Wild players by name or by nickname.

Kane closed with a nice compliment to head coach Mike Yeo.

Kane being mic’d up during the handshake line only makes us wish that we’d have been able to hear more conversations from handshake lines throughout NHL history. We’re left to imagine how some of those exchanges unfolded and we have to assume not all were as respectful as the one above.
