Alex Pietrangelo lost his glove in an unusual place

It’s not uncommon for a hockey player to lose a glove on the ice, but what happened with Alex Pietrangelo’s mitt doesn’t happen too often. Or ever, for that matter.

While Steve Ott tried to get under Jonathan Toews’ skin, Pietrangelo reached in to try to pull Toews away. The captain of the Blackhawks was firmly tied up with Ott and the official, which led to Pietrangelo’s glove getting caught against Toews’ head and the ref’s arm.

That’s incredible. Pietrangelo skates away to avoid being the extra man on the play, but he soon returns to retrieve his mitt and finds it in the exact spot he left it.

You just never know what you’ll see in a playoff hockey game.
