Jimmy Vesey is closing in on a decision, wants to hear from 4-5 more teams

The Jimmy Vesey sweepstakes continues.

Vesey’s agent said the talented forward is still looking to hear from other teams as he’s about to enter free agency, including the Boston Bruins.

“What Jimmy wants to do is see it through,” Vesey’s agent Peter Fish told the Boston Herald. “He’s wanted to go to free agency and he’s going to see it through. There’s about 4-5 teams other than Buffalo that he wants to hear from. And then after that he’s going to make a decision. I think he’d love for the Bruins to be one of those teams. I assume that we will be taking a call from them.

Vesey has been one of the most intriguing stories in free agency. The 23-year-old talent was drafted by the Nashville Predators in 2012. He upped his stock dramatically after posting consecutively impressive seasons in Harvard. Vesey never signed an entry-level contract and had his rights dealt to the Buffalo Sabres. He’s destined to become a free agent on Monday and has multiple teams clamoring for him.

The saga is now nearing its end.

As Fish told the Herald, Vesey just wants to start his NHL career. Vesey has the chance to get immediate top-six minutes from a team of his own choosing. His case is uncommon. By this time Monday, we’ll likely see where he lands. Hopefully, the hype ends up being justified and Vesey ends up being a stellar NHLer.
