The 5 best hockey fights from Week 14

It’s that time again. No, it’s not time to take over the world but it is time to watch a bunch of grown men try to beat up one another. Hockey Fights of the Week returns and we’ve got a collection of some extremely lopsided scraps.

5. Andy Andreoff (LA) vs Cody McLeod (COL) – Jan. 4th

We love fighting rivalries. Usually players will fight once a year across several years, but McLeod and Andreoff upped the ante by fighting in October of 2015 and again in the first month of 2016.

4. Mike Weber (BUF) vs Chris Thorburn (WPG) – Jan. 10th

A questionable hit led to this fight and once again the aggressor ended up on the losing end. We won’t debate the hit, but Thorburn handles himself with composure during a fairly short, but intense bout.

3. Roman Polak (TOR) vs Josh Manson (ANH) – Jan. 6th

Just a few years ago, there was an expression of “Don’t Open the Polak Door” when referring to the Czech defenseman. The door may not be as strong as it once was. There’s really only one good punch in this fight and it’s Manson leveling Polak.

2. Jordin Tootoo (NJ) vs Ryan Carter (MIN) – Jan. 10th

Tootoo may not offer a lot offensively, but he knows how to fight. That skill is being pushed out of the league, but it still serves a purpose here as he bashes Carter.

1. Robert Bortuzzo (STL) vs Luke Schenn (LA) – Jan. 9th

Schenn was eager to make a big impression with his new team and he did so with this fight against Bortuzzo. Schenn throws the majority of the punches and he’s the clear winner in his second game with the Kings.
