The 5 best hockey fights from Week 20

Our weekly look at hockey fights is back and this time there’s going to be quite a few familiar names. Antoine Roussel, Cody McLeod, Chris Neil and Zack Kassian all make appearances (two from Roussel) and they’re involved in some great fights.

5. Cody McLeod (COL) vs Zack Kassian (EDM) – Feb. 20th

There might be more pushing than actual punching in this one, so we’re going to call it a draw. There are some decent punches thrown once things get rolling which earns this scrap the fifth spot on our list.

4. Vernon Fiddler (DAL) vs Paul Gaustad (NSH) – Feb. 15th

This fight is so lopsided that the officials had to break things up early. Give Gaustad credit for an absolute beating in a game which featured another fight we’ll cover later on our list.

3. Nicolas Deslauriers (BUF) vs Chris Neil (OTT) – Feb. 16th

There’s really no question who won this fight. Neil dispatches Deslauriers with relative ease and though the ending is a bit lackluster, the power of the punches from Neil places this fight at the third spot on our list.

2. Adam McQuaid (BOS) vs Antoine Roussel (DAL) – Feb. 20th

This fight gets started out of view, but when the camera finds McQuaid and Roussel, they’re already throwing bombs. McQuaid picks up the win simply because he plays a bit more offense than Roussel, but this was a great bout between two tough fighters.

1. Antoine Roussel (DAL) vs Shea Weber (NSH) – Feb. 15th

This is an angry fight which we wish would have lasted a bit longer. These two fought back in 2013 and this fight – which takes place almost exactly three years later – is a vicious scrap reminding fans that both players are more than capable of dropping the mitts. We’ll call it a draw just because we enjoyed this one so much.
