Video: Bulgaria, Turkey IIHF match ends with a brawl and a trash can thrown at a player

Bulgaria and Turkey have a long, long history of not liking one another. So what exactly did we think would happen if these two countries put a team out on the ice? Apparently it involves a brawl and a trash can.

It all starts off pretty innocent as you see the U18 Bulgaria team celebrating and skating around the rink. Something sparked the U18 Turkish team to head on down to Bulgaria’s side and start wailing on them near the penalty boxes. The video shows the fight taking place in front of the penalty boxes, so maybe something was started there.

If you fast forward to 1:02 you will see the most ridiculous part of the video – the part where a trash can is thrown at a player. What the hell is happening? Maybe even better than the initial throw is the player that throws it off to the side after it makes it’s way onto the ice. It does not phase him one bit.

This will not bode well for either team as the IIHF has a no nonsense policy with these type of things. I am not completely sure how they will handle the trash can thrower though, but they may end up being above the law when all is said and done.
