Video: Devils prospect J.D. Dudek scores an incredible shootout goal

Development camps around the NHL have produced some pretty incredible shootout goals this summer. This one from Josh Wilkins and this one from Alexander Nylander may have raised the bar for what’s possible in the skills competition, but New Jersey Devils prospect J.D. Dudek had his own tricks up his sleeve.

Check out this insane shootout goal from Dudek:

Dudek probably could have scored after his first move, but he opted to go for the spectacular and make a couple more moves before scoring as he fell to the ice. Considering nothing is on the line, why not go big and risk missing with the possibility of scoring a shootout goal which will get both the team and hockey fans around the country buzzing? If you’re trying to make a strong impression, there’s nothing wrong with going for the spectacular.

A few prospects might be toeing the line of the “forward progress” rule in the shootout, but it’s summer development camp so it’s best to just sit back and enjoy.
