Video: Hockey ref gets hit in the junk by beer can, player’s brother arrested

Sometimes it just isn’t your day. Dominic Bedard knows that feeling. Bedard is a referee in the QMJHL and has had to make many tough calls over his entire career. February 11th was no different, but this time the call ended with him getting a beer can thrown at his genitals. You know, standard run of the mill stuff.

Apparently this all started after he issued Francis Perron a roughing penalty in the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies and Blainville-Boisbriand Armada game. Yes, those are two team names and not characters from Star Wars. As Bedard was about to announce the penalty, Perron’s brother Alexandre threw the aforementioned beer can at Bedard’s private parts.

According to Le Journal De Montreal, after his brother’s penalty, Perron launched a “nearly full” can of beer that nailed Bedard in the genitals.

So not only did he throw the can, but he also threw one that still had beer in it. That has to be some sort of sin, right? Man shall not waste beer!

According to reports, the brother Perron was ejected from the arena and subsequently arrested. He told the Le Journal De Montreal that he “regrets his actions”. While that is all well and good, he put a man’s manhood in jeopardy and that is an unforgivable offense.

In all seriousness, this has to be some of the weirdest news of the year, right?
