Video: KHL goaltender makes crazy stick save in preseason game

August doesn’t have to be the slow period for hockey news. The KHL has given us plenty to write about this preseason. While most of that news hasn’t been related to the skills on the ice, the KHL may have already given us the save of the year.

The goaltender who made the save was Alexei Krasikov from HC Sibir who is only 20 years of age. The save itself is out of this world, but to make it even more impressive was the fact he did it against reigning KHL MVP Sergei Mozyakin.

Athletic Russian goalies are nothing new as we have seen plenty in the NHL before and if this is any indication of how great the next generation is, the Russian national team has a lot to be optimistic about.
