Video: Marc-Edouard Vlasic takes a shot off the visor

Game 2 between the San Jose Sharks and the Nashville Predators had a frightening moment which should serve as a reminder about how important visors are in the NHL.

Marc-Edouard Vlasic was standing near his own net when a blistering shot came flying in from the point. That shot caught Vlasic directly on the visor.

You get a good idea of how fast that puck was traveling based on how difficult it is to see even in a video which has been slowed down.

Thankfully, Vlasic wasn’t injured on the play and he has his trusty visor to thank. Without it, Vlasic could have easily suffered an injury similar to the one which hit Marc Staal back in 2013.
