Will Arnett is scheduled host the 2016 NHL Awards on Wednesday, June 22nd at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Known for his work in Arrested Development and more recently his amazing job as the voice of LEGO Batman, Arnett is from Toronto and supports the Toronto Maple Leafs. He’s being called on to host the Awards after Rob Riggle hosted in 2015.
Arnett had a great quote when asked about hosting the 2016 Awards.
“I’m excited to host the 2016 NHL Awards because we all know in 2017 I’ll be too busy celebrating the Leafs winning the Stanley Cup.”
That’s the type of joke hockey fans can get behind.
Arnett is no stranger to the NHL Awards show. Remember back in 2012 when he appeared in a series of skits mocking Brendan Shanahan’s videos for the Department of Player Safety?

Those player safety videos were pretty ridiculous and Arnett’s parodies were pretty solid. Maybe a bit too accurate.
As for the awards themselves, finalists for each one are expected to be named over the next couple weeks.
