Video: Ben Bishop’s front teeth knocked out by Peter Holland’s shot

Ben Bishop knows what he’ll be asking for this Christmas. In his team’s game against the Maple Leafs, Bishop’s two front teeth were knocked out by a wrister from Peter Holland. Remarkably, the injury occurred even though his mask was still on.

The shot caught Bishop square in the mask, which somehow pushed the mask back into his mouth and knocked out his two front teeth. That’s one bizarre injury.

It’s possible Bishop’s mask wasn’t as secure as it should have been which caused the movement needed to knock his teeth out, but this is still a freak incident. It’s common to see hockey players lose their teeth, but it’s not often you see a goalie picking his teeth up off the ice.
