Flames misspell Niklas Backstrom’s name on his locker

The Calgary Flames picked up goaltender Niklas Backstrom in a trade with the Minnesota Wild just ahead of the trade deadline. The move added goaltending depth for Calgary, but it looks like the Flames may have expected a different player to show up based on the misspelling on Backstrom’s locker.

It’s a bit tough to see, but they put “Nicklas” instead of “Niklas” on the locker.

Wishful thinking? Realistically, it’s a pretty easy mistake to make, but it would have been quite the steal to nab Nicklas Backstrom the forward for the low price of David Jones.
