Video: Erik Johnson takes skate to face courtesy of Rick Nash

We saw the other night in the KHL that sometimes a skate gets up high on a player and it can produce some very scary moments. When I wrote that I didn’t expect that so shortly after the fact a scary moment would produce itself in the same week.

I don’t know what the hell Rick Nash is doing on this play, but it sure as hell looks dangerous in nature. Unfortunately Erik Johnson was on the recieving end of that skate. It was reported that Johnson only had a cut on the inside of his lip and the rest of the skate hit his visor flush. Scary moment but also a lucky moment for Johnson who was able to return mere moments later.
