Often times when a team is trailing by a large margin, players think it will motivate the team if they take a fist in the mouth for the sake of everyone. Brad Malone decided to nominate himself as tribute tonight and the results were anything but pretty.
You have to appreciate the ref’s hug that is given to Jordin Tootoo. It is as if he said to him, “no more this man has a family to think about”.
Malone was badly outmatched here as Tootoo is a well known pest who has some heavy, heavy hands. Not to be forgotten in this was Tootoo hitting Malone so hard that something flew off of Malone’s helmet.
