It has been a while since the Broad Street Bullies took the ice, but maybe some habits do in fact die hard.
Ryan White, the man who delivered the hit, isn’t your typical goon as he has seven points on the season and not an overwhelming amount of penalty minutes. He did receive five minutes and the game for this hit, which based on live play and replay was completely right call.
The truly odd part was the lack of “frontier justice” from the Red Wings on this play as they didn’t retaliate. Tomas Jurco is a big part of the team and isn’t just a bystander on this Red Wings team. Is this going to be a new trend for teams and players?
