Video: Calgary Hitmen’s annual Teddy Bear Toss featured 23,924 bears

The Calgary Hitmen have one of the better traditions in all of sports – the teddy bear toss. It doesn’t sound like much, yet it is so darn fun. Fans have thrown thousands of teddy bears over the years and were hopping to top a record with this year’s 22nd annual toss in which all of the stuffed animals are given to needy families and children.

The final tally for this year’s Teddy Bear Toss according to the Hitmen was 23,924. That is an awful lot of teddy bears. The plush toys are given to families in need and in the Calgary area they do multiple other fundraisers for the Children’s Miracle Network. It is an awesome event for an awesome cause. The world needs more moments like this.
