Video: Here’s a monster blindside hit from the Finnish Liiga

When Joe Finley was unable to secure a job in the NHL and decided to take his talents abroad, it seemed pretty likely that he’d fade into hockey obscurity. Finley joined HIFK in the Finnish Liiga prior to 2016-17 and he got the hockey community buzzing for a monster blindside hit on Michel Miklík.

That’s just a brutal hit. Miklik was left bloodied and had to be stretchered off following the collision.

There will be plenty of discussions about this hit. Some may argue it wasn’t as bad as it appears due to the point of contact, but the fact he led with his elbow and the overall nature of the hit are reasons why hits of this nature have no place in hockey.
