TQBR Rado 4/8: Danny Garcia Vs. Lamont Peterson Preview [UPDATED]

If airing promos where Danny Garcia looks into the camera and declares himself a ladies’ man several times an hour was Premier Boxing Champions’ push to have people dislike him even more than they already do, it was an award-winning triumph. Lamont Peterson likely gained a supporter or two as a result of Garcia’s appeal to the female demographic, but no matter. NBC is taking another crack at this boxing thing, and this is the highest level match up staged by PBC thus far.

Whether or not boxing could have already moved on from Garcia-Peterson several months ago is another issue entirely. Objectively, it’s a good fight, but… we’ll get to that.

This week on Queensberry Rules Radio, James Foley of Bad Left Hook and TQBR’s Patrick Connor get to that. There’s Garcia-Peterson and the Andy Lee vs. Peter Quillin co-feature, but there’s also the matter of last week’s CBS card — also from Al Haymon’s PBC — that saw Adonis Stevenson easily tame Sakio Bika and Artur Beterbiev chop down aging vet Gabriel Campillo. The rest is here.

[UPDATE]

As most listeners already know, the episode yesterday was actually not taped, and therefore not available now. However, an interview with Philly Boxing History‘s John DiSanto is now available both by clicking here, and on iTunes/Stitcher via the normal Queensberry Rules Radio channel. A huge “thank you” to everyone for understanding, and feedback is always appreciated!
