Andrew Tabiti, Dusty Hernandez-Harrison And The Rest Of The Week’s Boxing Schedule

When the boxing schedule isn’t all that exciting, you’ve got to make your own fun. For example, boxers fighting this weekend who sound like Game Of Thrones characters include: Rashad Bogar, Luke Blackledge, Cido Hoff and Thomas Snow.

  • Andrew Tabiti vs Keith Tapia, Friday, Showtime, Las Vegas. A decent ShoBox card headlined by Mayweather Promotions cruiserweight prospect Tabiti and former Olympian and heavyweight prospect Michael Hunter. Tabiti faces Puerto Rico’s Keith Tapia, whose undefeated record belies a gangly awkwardness. Tabiti just looks way sharper at this stage of his career. Hunter faces Detroit native Isiah Thomas, a southpaw with sound fundamentals. Hunter hasn’t looked all the impressive and has had a tendency to gas, so it’s possible he could have his hands full.
  • Dusty Hernandez-Harrison vs Mike Dallas, Jr., Friday, BET, Washington D.C. Welterweight prospect and ticket seller Hernandez-Harrison faces one-time prospect Dallas, who was brutally knocked out by Lucas Matthysse two years ago and hasn’t been heard from since (well, he’s had two fights against very undistinguished opposition). He’s being brought in to lose, but Hernandez-Harrison hasn’t exactly faced a murderer’s row himself, so you never know.
  • Carlos Diaz vs Roberto Marroquin, Saturday, beIN Sports Español, Reynosa Tamaulipas. Texas junior lightweight Marroquin takes a trip south of the border to face the undefeated but inexperienced Diaz.
  • Saul Rodriguez vs Daulis Prescott, Saturday, UniMas, Studio City Calif.  Cali lightweight prospect Rodriguez faces journeyman Prescott, a Colombian club-level guy.
