This is how you make a fans day.

After winning a Sprint Cup race in Martinsville, Virginia yesterday, defending Sprint Cup champion Kyle Busch was driving his passenger car in post race traffic when he noticed a woman in the lane beside him wearing his hat. Busch attempted to capture the fans attention and was initially ignored as he honked and waved, which didn’t elicit a reaction other than a slight awkwardness.

Busch didn’t give up. He rolled down his window and tried again. He asked the woman “Sup?” which caused the fan to freak out upon realizing who he was. The fan screams “oh my god,” as Busch laughs at the camera and waves. The woman tells Bush she loves him, as Busch reaches out of his window, grabs her hat and signs it. The woman is lucky he keeps a sharpie on hand. Busch hands the hat back, tells the fan it was good to see her and goes on his way.

The moment is pretty special and shows how an athlete can make a fans day with a simple gesture, like quickly saying hello and signing a hat in the post race traffic jam.

Busch’s wife Samantha, who filmed the interaction, posted the video on social media. The video has been retweeted more than two thousand times on Twitter, and has been viewed over nine million times on Facebook.

Good on Busch for taking a moment to make a fans day.
