Soccer has a reputation for diving and/or flopping, to the point that when the practice started becoming more commonplace in the NBA, a popular scapegoat was the influx of foreign basketball players.

But while there are certainly some classic flops or dives across multiple sports, soccer does often bring us some great ones, and this one from Bahia’s Lucas Fonseca is an all-timer. Already on a yellow card, Fonseca crashes into Flamengo’s Paolo Guerrero, then, well, this happened:

That’s one HELL of an air punch-flop combo ?❓? ???

That’s a classic soccer move; instigate the contact with a reckless or dirty play, then feign as though you were actually the victim. Guerrero was carded for nothing, which is a shame, but Fonseca was also carded for his flop, his second yellow of the match.

It was reminiscent of Dillon Brooks, to be honest:

But it still probably lags behind what I consider to be the greatest soccer flop of all time, and therefore the greatest flop of all time:

That’s a masterpiece.

At least the referee caught this one.
