Trailing 1-0 to Real Madrid in the first half of Saturday’s Champions League Final in Cardiff, Juventus drew level through Mario Mandzukic in the 27th minute.

But that wasn’t the story. The story was how ridiculous, absurd, obscene, incredible, (choose your own adjective here) the goal scored was.

So that’s an overhead kick, controlled off his chest, following a sequence of three passes that don’t touch the ground. Holy shit.

The response (in Italian) by Juventus on Twitter is something to behold, too.

A win would give Juventus their third European Cup/Champions League title, and their first since way back in 1996.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, has won the trophy 11 times in their history, including in both 2014 and 2016 (each over Atletico Madrid). They’re aiming to be the first team in the Champions League era (1993-present) to win in back to back years, a feat last accomplished by AC Milan in both the 1989 and 1990 seasons before the change in format.
