Chances are even the diehard American soccer fan has never heard of Spanish side C.D. Palencia? Well, the fourth division Spanish side has found a way to make a name for itself thanks to a…shall we say, “unique” kit design?

In partnership with Kappa, Palencia unveiled an “inside-out” kit design — and no, the design doesn’t mean the jersey looks like its on inside-out, it actually flips the human body inside-out.

WARNING: Not for the faint of heart…see pic below…

Many of the subsequent tweets about the new uniform included the hashtag #nosdejamoslapiel, which loosely translates to “we leave our skin.” It’s a popular phrase in Spain, akin to our “we give it our all” here in the USA.

C.D. Palencia are certainly making a name for themselves, even after forming up as a club just within the last decade (2011). After forming from a dispute over the change of the club in the city in 2011, the team has seen itself rise quickly. It was promoted out of the Provincial league in its first season and reached the promotion play-off last season to up to the Segunda Division B (third tier of Spanish soccer league structure).

No word on if Kappa or C.D. Palencia got their inspiration from the famous 1980’s PBS character “Slim Goodbody” or not.
