For the first time since 1986, the United States Men’s National Team will not be in the World Cup.

The USMNT failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup after a stunning 2-1 loss to Trinidad & Tobago on Thursday night, and with victories by Panama and Honduras. The odds of this all happening were tiny (even a USMNT draw and they were in great shape), and it’s an absolutely embarrassing result for the United States.
