Thanksgiving is here and it’s a time to reflect on the blessings of your life. Specifically: to give thanks for all of the sports that are on over the holiday; sports that help you pass the time when family gatherings go a bit too long.

Here are the five games you should be most thankful for this holiday weekend.

Vikings at Lions – Thanksgiving Day at 12:30 p.m. ET on FOX

Most years, the Lions are so bad that they make your aunt’s green bean casserole look good by comparison. But after making the playoffs as a wildcard a year ago, the Lions are back in contention for the playoffs again this year at 6-4. Yet they’re 2-point home underdogs against the Vikings, who have emerged as one of the top teams in the NFL behind a strong defense and a surprisingly effective quarterback-receiver combo of Case Keenum and Adam Thielen. You’ll want to eat in front of the TV for this one. (Although you’ll still want to avoid that nasty green bean casserole.)
