Kawhi Leonard makes his MVP case vs. James Harden
Who is the NBA’s most valuable player? If you fell on the James Harden side of the argument against your LeBron James friends, then you had a pretty decent leg to stand on for much of the night on Monday. But Kawhi Leonard of the San Antonio Spurs rejected that argument with authority in the biggest way possible. Leonard matched a 39-point effort by Harden on Monday night and gave the Spurs the lead in the final minute with a three-pointer that had Manu Ginobli beside himself.

As if that go-ahead three-pointer were not enough, Leonard came up with a block of Harden to protect the lead.

If someone could photoshop Kawhi Leonard slapping the MVP out of Harden's hand…. That'd be great. pic.twitter.com/93cYXQRMJD

Leonard finished his night with 39 points, six rebounds and five assists and two blocks. Harden’s 39-point effort also came with 12 assists, but Leonard took the win and blocked Harden to help seal it. Advantage: Leonard.
Andrew Bogut’s Cleveland Cavaliers injury ends with a broken leg
Andrew Bogut wanted to play with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, and he did just that. For about a minute.
Bogut was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers at the trade deadline last week and quickly had his contract bought out by the Sixers, allowing Bogut to test free agency. He had his eyes set on joining the Cavs, who made the dream a reality. On Monday night, Bogut made his Cleveland debut, and it was short-lived. In one minute of play with the Cavs, Bogut was called for two fouls and left the game with a fractured left tibia. Yikes.
Initial x-rays and evaluation on Andrew Bogut revealed fractured left tibia; was taken to Cleveland Clinic for further imaging & evaluation.

Unfortunate.

Tournament tickets punched by Iona, UNC Wilmington, East Tennessee State,
Three new teams have officially been added to this year’s men’s basketball tournament. Iona needed double overtime to get by Siena for the MAAC championship with an 87-86 victory. East Tennessee State came back from a second-half deficit to take the Southern Conference against UNC Greensboro, and UNC-Wilmington held off Charleston for the CAA championship. One other notable outcome from Monday night was Milwaukee’s 74-68 victory over UIC in the Horizon League semifinal. Milwaukee is now one win away from making the NCAA tournament with a record of 12-23 and just four wins in conference play during the regular season.

Milwaukee, which finished the regular season 8-23 and last in the Horizon League, is now one win from a stunning NCAA bid.

Conference championship week will begin to pick up the pace starting today with the opening of the ACC tournament in Brooklyn (seriously, Brooklyn). WE’ll also have a good handful of tickets officially punched tonight as well with the championship games in the Horizon League, Northeast Conference, and Summit League all on tap for tonight.

Sports Business Daily says NASCAR is considering working to make the cars quieter, which seems like a decent idea. They’ll still be loud, but if the idea is to make it easier for fans in the stands to talk to each other during a race, turning the volume down on the cars is the only way to go. Of course, some people like the loudness of sitting in the stands and observing the speedy hunks of metal zipping by.
