Hello Matt Harvey, you stud. I also love how the Mets made sure to include those non-existent 2017 stats in this graphic.

Shamrock Shake season is here, if you forgot

We are now in our first full week of March, which means I need to get myself over to McDonald’s to grab a chocolate Shamrock Shake. I’m convinced these were made because of how many times they have let chocolate milkshake drizzle into Shamrock Shakes and vice versa out of pure laziness and decided to just make it a menu item.

Steph Curry heats up in a silent Madison Square Garden

When you get your scoring touch back, you photobomb your teammate during an interview.

Steph Curry has been shooting a bit of a cold hand lately for some reason, but he found his signature touch once again in Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks. Curry delivered a 31-point effort with a strong finish to the game to help lead the Golden State Warriors to a 112-105 win to avoid a three-game losing streak. The performance seems to have gotten some people back on his side.

The Knicks tried a new gimmick for the first half of the game by not having any in-game entertainment, music and so on. It was a throwback to the way games used to sound in the arena before teams got crazed with filling every moment with some sort of entertainment to keep fans engaged.

It was a pretty cool idea, but for some reason, Draymond Green did not take too kindly to the nostalgic atmosphere.

Suns burn the Celtics in an absolutely wild finish

The Celtics were without the luck of the Irish in Phoenix.

When you lose a game like this, it has to sting just a little and make for a long flight home. Check out this game-winning shot from Tyler Ulis as time expired. The action leading up to it was exciting too, unless you are a Boston fan.

The Dark Knight Returns

Hello Matt Harvey, you stud. I also love how the Mets made sure to include those non-existent 2017 stats in this graphic.

Yes, it is only spring training baseball in the beginning of March, but Mets fans got a reason to feel happy on Sunday afternoon with the return of Matt Harvey to the pitcher’s mound. Harvey’s return from shoulder surgery started off well…

… but took a turn for the worse in his second inning of work.

Harvey topped out at 94 mph in his first spring start and allowed four runs on four hits with three strikeouts in 1.2 innings of work. It was just one start in the spring, but because fans will be fans, Mets fans already started panicking about Harvey two innings into the spring…

Is Russell Westbrook worthy of MVP consideration in the NBA? Not according to Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. Cuban thinks the MVP race is a coin flip between LeBron James and James Harden. “He’s not,” Cuban said of Westbrook being in the MVP conversation prior to Sunday night’s game between his Mavericks and Westbrook’s Thunder. Westbrook then proceeded to go out and score 29 points with six rebounds and five assists in a 104-89 setback against the Mavs. That means this tweet didn’t quite play out as one had hoped…

On the flip side, one of the weekend’s best plays may also have been seen on the ice off the whimsical stick of Nikita Kycherov of the Tampa Bay Lightning…

By the way, I am glad somebody is still using that old NHL on FOX music. It really was pretty great and makes me even more mad that FOX Sports has decided to use its NFL on FOX theme for everything, including baseball coverage.

One last gratuitous moment of procrastination

Yesterday was the 13h anniversary to one of the great hockey brawls of the 21st century, between the Philadelphia Flyers and Ottawa Senators. Watching it with Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” blasting is the definitive way to observe the brouhaha.
