DENVER, CO – JANUARY 13: (L-R) Stephen Curry #30 of the Golden State Warriors takes a break on the bench as Draymond Green #23 of the Golden State Warriors sits out the game against the Denver Nuggets at Pepsi Center on January 13, 2016 in Denver, Colorado. The Golden State Warriors lost their third game of the season, the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants have their new head coaches, and a kid shows that he can pull off Steph Curry’s ridiculous moves. That and much more at today’s Cheat Sheet…

The Golden State Warriors have now lost three games. Hey, there’s always next year.

The Warriors gave Draymond Green the night off on Wednesday in Denver, and the value of what he brings to the table was evident in the team’s 112-110 loss to the Nuggets (if it somehow already wasn’t evident in regards to a guy that plays elite defense and also had triple-doubles in four of his last seven games).

ESPN’s Ethan Sherwood Strauss has more:

In losing to the Denver Nuggets 112-110 on Wednesday night, the Golden State Warriors came just short of compensating for the absence of Draymond Green’s intelligent ferocity. With Green resting his tired legs, the Warriors were outplayed for the vast majority — that is, till they were nearly saved by Stephen Curry channeling the supernatural. At the end, Curry did all he could to right the wrongs of three quarters, and in the end, he came a play away from creating a memory that might have rivaled playoff moments.

As Strauss said, the Nuggets outplayed the Warriors for most of the game, and Steph Curry did his best to save Golden State with 20 points in the fourth quarter (he finished with 38 points).

The most notable field goal Curry made was this pull-up 35-footer in the final minute to get the Warriors to within two points:

Ridiculous, although it’s basically routine for Curry.

The Nuggets (15-24) got another huge night out of Danilo Gallinari, as he scored 28 points, and went 17-19 at the free throw line. He’s scored at least 20 points in all six of the Nuggets’ January games, averaging 26.2 points per game on the month.

As for the Warriors, they’re still just fine. Like, “tied for the best record in NBA history through 39 games” fine.

However, the Spurs are on a nine-game winning streak and are now just 2.5 games behind the Warriors for the top seed in the West.

Browns hire Hue Jackson; Giants expected to hire Ben McAdoo; Mike Shanahan “strongly in mix” for 49ers

Cincinnati Bengals v Baltimore Ravens

Hue Jackson is the next up (and eighth since 1999) to take on the challenge of coaching the train wreck that is the Cleveland Browns to success. Good luck!

By most accounts, the Cleveland Browns are hiring one of the top names in this round of the NFL coaching carousel with Hue Jackson, but it’s fair to remain skeptical that this will finally be the coach that turns things around in Cleveland. The Browns will hire the Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator to be their new head coach of the perpetually reshaping franchise. He becomes the team’s eighth head coach since 1999 (and sixth since 2008), replacing Mike Pettine, who compiled a 10-22 record in two seasons.

Cleveland.Com’s Mary Kay Cabot reports that Jackson doesn’t want anything to do with Johnny Manziel and it’s likely the Browns draft a quarterback with the second overall pick:

A source close to Jackson told cleveland.com that he won’t want to risk his job and reputation on Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel, who angered the club during the final weekend of the season by traveling to Las Vegas just days after being diagnosed with a concussion. He also missed his concussion treatment the morning of the game and was spotted in Vegas in a blond wig and fake mustache. The Browns have the No. 2 overall pick in the draft and will likely pick a quarterback, possibly Jared Goff of Cal.

The New York Giants also appear to have found their new head coach in Ben McAdoo.

That move isn’t yet official, but when Ian Rapoport reports it, it’s going to happen 99% of the time. The 38-year-old McAdoo served as Tom Coughlin’s offensive coordinator with the Giants over the last two seasons, so this is simply a promotion to the head-coaching position. Odell Beckham Jr. is surely in favor of the move given the insane production he’s put up in McAdoo’s offense.

And then we have the San Francisco 49ers. Mike Shanahan is reportedly “strongly back in the mix” for the 49ers’ head-coaching job.

So, that would obviously be huge news if it happens, and Tom Coughlin appears to still be in the mix there as well. Stay tuned.

Down two with just 1.7 seconds left against Oswego State and inbounding from under their opponent’s basket, the D3 Brockport Golden Eagles needed some Grant Hill to Christian Laettner shit to even make it to overtime. That’s not exactly what happened, but somehow the ball Rube Goldberg Machine’d its way to sophomore Hamed Shamseldin anyway, who buried the deep jumper.
