Christopher Nolan’s latest film, Interstellar, has been somewhat of a mystery.
What we’d known up until this point is that Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain star in the film. (Also, every Nolan film since Batman Begins must have Michael Caine. I think it’s actually a rule. So he’s in there too.)
But the studio promotional machinery is starting to roll, giving us a better idea of what this movie is truly about. Nolan showed a new trailer last weekend at Comic-Con and it’s now available online.
The story deals with an outer space mission, reportedly involving travel (and time travel) through wormholes and a search for other planets where crops can be grown, as they can no longer be grown on Earth. Above all, Interstellar seems to want to capture the sense of awe and wonder that we once had about space travel.
If you want a diversion, you can also go to the movie’s official website and pull up the trailer by entering the passcode 7201969 (which is the date that Apollo 11 landed on the moon).
Interstellar is scheduled for a Nov. 6 release.
