Matt den Dekker robs Anthony Rendon of a homer

Matt den Dekker of the New York Mets is working hard in an attempt to procure himself a spot on New York's Opening Day roster. He spent last year split between AA Binghamton and AAA Buffalo, and the 25-year old posted a .779 OPS with 17 homers between the two levels. In the seventh inning, Washington Nationals prospect Anthony Rendon hit a ball to deep center field and den Dekker got on his horse, leaping and making a fantastic catch just shy of the fence to rob Rendon of a homer. That will go a long way towards helping his case for a roster spot, but it's still just February. Regardless, it was a nice start to his spring.
