Robinson Cano agrees to ten-year, $240 million contract with Mariners

After a tumultuous evening in Seattle, cooler heads have prevailed, and the Mariners have agreed to a ten-year, $240 million contract with former Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano.

Yesterday, Ian wrote about the Mariners becoming contenders if they added Cano and David Price. Well, half of that equation is now complete with Cano's signing, and it's expected that Seattle will intensify their push to pair Price with Felix Hernandez at the top of their rotation.

Cano is one of the best players in baseball, but is already 31-years old and will be moving to a very pitcher-friendly ballpark.

We'll have more analysis on this story as it develops.
