Officially licensed LSU beer will be named Bayou Bengal

Last month we told you that LSU was partnering with Tin Roof Brewing Company to make an officially licensed beer. Now, the beer has an official name and style….

Tin Roof Brewing Company is excited to announce the style of their officially licensed beer of Louisiana State University, Bayou Bengal, as a Premium American Lager……

Chosen participants attended a blind tasting panel on either Tuesday, June 14, or Saturday, June 18, and sampled tasters of eight different beers. They were instructed to taste each beer, write detailed notes, and circle their favorite number on the tasting sheet……

After thoroughly tallying up the votes and reading through the feedback, Tin Roof settled on a recipe: Premium American Lager.

This beer was the winner, by far, with comments such as “great, solid beer” and “consistent from first to last sip.”

Tin Roof plans to start brewing Bayou Bengal as soon as possible, hoping to be in the public’s hands by the first LSU football game.

If you happen to get a hold of one of these once they are released give us a shout and let us know how they are!
